Child Of Humanity

The Word of God became a human being and, full of grace and truth, lived among us. We saw his glory, the glory which he received as the Father’s only Son. John 1: 14

On the face of the world there was not born His equal.
Three-person God, Trinity’s only Son, Gentle and strong.
Son of the Godhead, Son of humanity, Only Son of wonder.
The Son of God is a refuge, Mary’s Son a blessed sanctuary, a noble child was seen.
Great is his splendor, Great Lord and God in the place of glory.
From the line of Adam we were born.
From David’s line the fulfillment of prophecy, the host was born again.
By his word he saved the blind and the deaf from all suffering.
The ragged, foolish sinners and those of impure mind.

Child of glory, Child of Mary
Born in the stable, King of all
You came to our wasteland
In our place suffered.
Happy we are counted who to you are near.
Strengthen our hope, Enliven our joy,
Keep us valiant, faithful and near
